Property description
The apartment’s front door is immediately to your right after entering the premises through the shared main entrance of the building. In this corridor, you’ll also find a tumble dryer, storage closet, and cleaning supplies, which each resident may use at their convenience.
The apartment itself is a shining example of beauty in simplicity: a cozy living area, open kitchen, and efficiently placed work area combine to give the apartment a loft-like appearance. Its modern furniture contrasts nicely with the rustic wooden cupboards and cabinets, providing the apartment with a homely, yet contemporary vibe. It also has a remarkably spacious feel to it, as the large front window and the narrow row of windows covering the back wall ensure an abundance of natural light fills up the apartment.
As can be seen in the pictures, the expansive open kitchen stretches along most of the back wall and is equipped to meet all your culinary needs: included are an induction stove, microwave oven, dishwasher, pots and pans, utensils, etc. Along with a large fridge-freezer, you are now ready to blow your guests away at dinner parties.
The apartment features only 2 doors other than the front door, both in the far corner from the front door. The left door leads to the apartment’s bathroom. Here you’ll find a sink, toilet, shower, and the washing machine. Plain light-grey tiles on the walls, wooden accents, and patterned tiles in and around the shower stall make for a modern look with an authentic touch. And in line with the main living area, the bathroom’s back wall features the same narrow row of windows, providing lots of natural light while retaining privacy.
The other door (on the right) leads to the bedroom, where you’ll find a comfy queen-size bed, a closet for you clothes, and a smaller cabinet for extra storage space. The top half of the large window can be opened, so you can easily air out the room. And, with a place to literally hang your hat, your new home will certainly ensure sweet dreams.

Things to do in the area – suggestions from the owner
Ouderkerk aan den IJssel and the surrounding area are beautiful and rich in both history and nature. The 759-years-old village boasts no less than 29 national monuments: traditional Dutch farmhouses, church and cemeteries, and a drawbridge. Surrounded by agriculture, the village lies right at the bank of the river IJssel. A small ferry is available for pedestrians and bicyclists to cross the river to get to Hitland, the nature and leisure park on the other side.
Alternatively, you can drive into Rotterdam or Gouda, or go there by public transport as outlined below.
Shops
Luckily, everything is close in a village, so the nearest grocery store is only 500 meters away from the apartment. The bakery and pizzeria are a little further down the street, although also well within walking distance.
Getting around & parking
In the entire village parking is free. Behind the apartment building are convenient parking spaces, so you’ll never have to walk far to get to your car in the morning.
Public transport
There are no trains or trams stopping in Ouderkerk aan den IJssel, so to go anywhere with public transport you’ll need to take a bus. Fortunately, the nearest bus stop is located next to the grocery store, and it will only take you a couple minutes to get there from the apartment. From the bus stop (Burg. Neetstraat), you can take bus 196 to either Rotterdam or Gouda. It will take you about 45 minutes to one hour to get to Rotterdam Centraal (central train station), and about 30 minutes to get to Gouda (train station).

Service & Maintenance
When you rent any of our apartments you will get a fully furnished and equipped place ready for move-in. We make sure that all you need to arrange are your belongings. The contracts and connections for internet, gas, water & electricity are all arranged by us. On your move-in date, rest assured that everything will be working and clean, and expect no hidden charges the day you are moving in. Bi-weekly cleaning is provided for the apartment and the shared parts of the building are also cleaned regularly. The apartment is privately owned and managed by a professional property manager. We will take care of everything for you and make you feel at home!
Safety first
The apartment is equipped with all safety measures required: a fire extinguisher, smoke detectors and a fire blanket in the kitchen.
Financial requirements
We will do a credibility check on our tenants. Therefore, we need (financial) information such as ID’s, recent salary slips, employer statements or proof of registration at the university from you before we can rent out the apartment to you.
