With a floor space of 180 m2 this privately owned apartment is suitable for 2 individuel tenants and one couple. We have a studio with a private bedroom with French balcony, a private bathroom/toilet and a living room with large sunny rooftop balcony available. The bedroom offers a double bed, working desk and large wardrobe. The livingroom offers a cozy couch, working space and breakfast corner. Kitchen and dining room is shared as well as the laundry room, garderobe with shoe storage and the private shed for city bikes.

Public transport nearby

Conveniently situated near major public transportation, it is only a 20-minute bike ride from down town Rotterdam, to the Erasmus University and even less to the Hogeschool Rotterdam/Codarts or the business centre of Rotterdam. The apartment is located in the upcoming Tarwewijk only 7min walk from metro Maashaven and 5min walk to busstation Zuidplein. You will get around very easily.

Second floor

You enter the apartment through the front door and must take the stairs to the second floor. The hall gives access to the shared hall way with huge wardrobe for the storage of coats and shoes. Furtermore the shared 1st toilet is located on the second floor as well as the laundry room and technical room. Via the hall way you enter the dining room, the shared kitchen and the living room with French balcony.

Besides a quiet living room with laying/lounge sofas you can stay comfortable in the dining room with dining table for six. The kitchen connects the living room with the dining room and is fully furnished and equipped with every luxury and practical items.

From the dining room you look through a large window to the French balcony and the courtyard of the complex. The scullery provides the ironing board, vacuum cleaner and cleaning utensils.

Private studio on the 4th floor for a couple

You will sleep in a light and spacious 20 m2 private bedroom with a king size bed (1.60 x 2.00), anti-allergy bedding, spacious cupboards, a wardrobe and a private study desk. The central heating in the room has a separate heating point. The private bathroom with toilet connects your bedroom with your private livingroom. This particular bedroom has a large rooftop terrace/balcony. 

Safety first

The apartment is equipped with all safety measures including a fire extinguisher, smoke detectors in every room and a fire blanket. And if someone rings the doorbell downstairs, you can ask via intercom who it is before you open the door.


The Tarwewijk was built between 1900 and 1930 to house the workers in the fast-growing harbor. The neighborhood owes its name to its location next to the Maashaven, where the grain ships used to be loaded. There are still a few (former) grain companies on the Brielselaan, including the monumental Grainsilo. This iconic building is well known as a party location, but nowadays there are also young, creative entrepreneurs under the name Creative Factory.

The lively Tarwewijk is inhabited by a colorful palette of people. The district has a young population; twenty percent are under fifteen years old. Many families with children live there. Relatively few elderly people live in the district; only six percent of the inhabitants of the Tarwewijk are older than 65 years. The district has a number of vital centers of people who are committed to a better neighborhood. They feel involved in the developments in the neighborhood and contribute to a more pleasant living environment.

Shops can mainly be found on the edges of the district: Dordtselaan, Pleinweg and Hellevoetstraat. Zuidplein shopping center is within walking distance. There are many facilities such as primary schools, a health center, churches and a playground. Squares and small parks lie between the different neighborhoods. Courses and various other activities are organized in the Millinxparkhuis. Church organizations also organize activities for the residents of the neighborhood.

When you rent any of our apartments you will get a fully furnished and equipped place ready for move-in. We make sure that all you need to arrange are your belongings. The contracts and connections for internet, gas, water & electricity are all arranged by us. On your move-in date, rest assure everything will be working, clean and expect no hidden charges the day you are moving in. The apartment is privately owned and managed by a professional property manager. We will take care of everything for you and make you feel at home!

Financial requirements

We will do a (financial) credibility and identity check on our tenants. Therefore we need (financial) information before we can rent the room to you, such as IDs, proof of registration at the university if you are a student, working contracts, salary and bank statements.
